FOREX

Ambit’s foreign exchange service is disrupting the currency transfer market in Northern Ireland. TREASURY

A recent client’s review is typical – eliminating international inward payment charges, international payment fees and currency accounts fees delivered savings of £5,000 for a £6m turnover business. Savings, of course, vary depending on size and business sector.

A local business with a turnover of over £2M came unstuck when the major distributor (Amazon) insisted on a change to their specific banking arrangements. This was due to the fact that their production was in Israel, the sales hub was in the US with global sales and the owner was resident in Ireland. Ambit’s specialist assists businesses to address financial problems amongst other things and create a number of alternative solutions via a "core business review" with a recommended solution. For example, a company had a problem contract which was putting the company in financial distress and in danger of liquidation. Problem addressed and solution implemented to prevent liquidation and allow the business to continue trading profitably.


VIRTUAL FINANCE DIRECTOR

Xero invited their top 50 Platinum users to spell out everything they would like to see in a software package. The Virtual Finance Director package (VFD for short) already catered for 90% of their requirements. Our partners took this on board and subsequently developed their program exclusively for Xero software which resulted in them becoming an official partner of Xero and a must for all Xero users. (2020 will also see QBO able to plug-in).

FINANCE

"We arrange funding for anything." You don’t want to let your business cash flow detract from obtaining finance when you need to refinance, make an acquisition, upgrade IT, plant, equipment, vehicles, property, refurbishment, etc. However, within the current financial environment, appetite from recognised lenders appears to be restricted and the process to get a decision can be frustratingly slow and indeed, not all banks want to lend.
